This is a beautiful example of a Gondola Salad Bowl, so beloved of diners in the 1930s, from Crown Devon.

The Gondola is decorated in the stunning 'Prunus' design with brightly enamelled flowers, foliage and stems all outlined in gilt. It is pattern number 2103 dating it to 1930.

It measures just under 14 inches (35.5 cms) in length with a height to the top of the handles of 6.5 inches (16.5 cms).

There are no chips, nibbles etc and there appear to be only a very few tiny flecks to the paintwork. There is evidence of crazing underneath and in the well of the bowl.

It is backstamped appropriately showing the gold Crown Devon stamp.

It is in excellent condition. It has no chips/nibbles nor restoration work.
