Bairstow Manor - Winston Churchill - Man of the Century - No.84/100 - SOLD
Personally, I think this is one of the nicest figurines to have been put on to the market. One of two Special Productions from Bairstow Manor of Sir Winston Churchill , taken from a cartoon published in the early 20th. century in the Punch magazine (I think it was this magazine!).
The cartoon of this one was published in 1919 and shows Churchill sitting crosslegged on the steps of his country home, smoking the ubiquitous cigar and generally looking like the important man he was then. The title of the cartoon was, ' Man of the Century'.
It is a limited edition of only 100 pieces, this being number 84. The series is entitled, Man of the Century, the Centenary Club . The other release in this series is also available.
The model is 6.5 inches (17 cms) tall and has a width of 5 inches (12.5 cms) and is in perfect condition.
It is appropriately backstamped.
