Artware Collectables Walking Ware Queen's Diamond Jubilee Kneeling Cup - L/E
£75.00
This is the very first release from Artware Collectables in collaboration with Roger Michell of Lustre Pottery.
Following the format of previous Kneeling Cups which have been made available for many Royal occasions, this one has been produced to commemorate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
The official logo was chosen after a competition sponsored by Blue Peter, the CBBC's children's programme.
The once-in-a-lifetime prize proved a huge draw and the competition received almost 35,000 entries from children aged six to 14. The judging panel included renowned branding expert Martin Lambie-Nairn, Blue Peter presenter Barney Harwood and children's book illustrators Tony Ross, Nick Sharratt and Emma Chichester-Clark. They faced an enormous task choosing a winner out of the thousands of entries, but finally the winning entry went to Katherine Dewar, aged 10, from Chester. (Thanks to the BBC Press Office for this information.)
Our Kneeling Cup measures almost 5.5 inches (14 cms) in height with a top diameter of 4 inches (10 cms) and is quite a significant size larger than previous Cups.
It is a limited edition of only 250 pieces.
